Marsipan
- Marie Marceau: flutes, bagpipes, piano, voice
- Marianne Trudel: piano, accordion, voix
- Simon Stålspets: guitar, mandoline, harmonica, voice
A unit comprised of Swedish and Québécois musicians, the Marsipan trio is a tasty musical treat whose prime ingredients are
rooted in the folk musics of both countries as well as Ireland, with dashes of
improvisation and jazz folded into the mix. In Greek, the word ‘pan’
means ‘all,’ which underscores this group’s openness towards an
array of styles and musical repertoires. In turns traditional, then more
truculently contemporary, this trio is enchanting by virtue of its musical
versatility.
